Giving Charity In Dhul Hijjah

Good Deed Of The Day : Charity

Indeed Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves us a lot because, after Ramadan, Allah has given us another chance of purifying ourselves and strengthening our Imaan by giving us the blessed ten days of Dhul Hijjah!

In these ten days, we should strive our best to purify our souls and hearts to be sincerely attached with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, and it can be done when we hold the hand of good deeds and when we embrace ourselves in the love of the Almighty Allah.

Even though many good deeds allow us to be connected with the Almighty Allah, but as everything has its leader, similarly, the good deeds have a leader too.

And it is a charity.

Giving charity, I,e helping our beloved brothers and sisters with money or anything which benefits them is such a virtuous act that it converts a sinner into an honest lover of Allah and the  Prophet Muhammad ( peace and blessings of Allah be upon him ).

In addition to this, it makes him capable of gaining Allah's Qurb.

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the Quran :

“Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward.” (Al Hadeed 57:18)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Tirmidhi)

Moreover, giving charity is not a virtuous act just because we help someone with our money and efforts, but giving charity is profitable in every way to a person since he sees his brother and sister in deen in a great need of help. Hence, he helps them rather than neglecting their pain, and when a lover of Allah does it with a good intention, it's a sign that the love of the Almighty Allah is alive in his heart and that he is on the straight path

There are various ways to perform the good deed of charity; some of them are :

  1. Smiling when seeing the ace of our loved ones.
  2. Gifting a copy of the Quran to someone.
  3. Helping someone with anything which benefits them .
  4. Making people closer to Allah .
  5. Removing a stone from the road so that it does not hurt others .
  6. Praying for them in their absence .
  7. Putting a morsel of food in your wife's mouth.

And much more.

Every action which you do with a good intention for others is a charity for you as the Beloved Prophet Muhammad ( peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Your smile for your brother is a charity. Your removal of stones, thorns or bones from the paths of people is a charity. Your guidance of a person who is lost is a charity" (Bukhari)

So this Dhul Hijjah, let's try to earn some more love and mercy from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala by helping the people in need because life is too short to live, you never know when your another friend I,e your death will come to take you to another world.

And being honest lovers of the Almighty Allah, we should always try to increase our love for Him and look out for various ways to connect with Him.

When we have the ladder of charity that can take us closer to our master, we should take full advantage of it.

However, charity doesn't mean giving hefty donations to charitable organizations and trusts. Still, even if you give one rupee with the sincere intention of helping Allah's slaves and for His sake, it's enough for you to gain Allah's Qurb and to save yourself on the day of judgment from the punishment of the hellfire.

May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala expand our hearts so that we may help the people of need as much as we can.

Aameen summa Aameen.
